Growing up in south Alabama, country music was the backdrop to Dustin Herring’s childhood. It played from tractor and treehouse radios and everywhere in between. Even with music all around him, it wasn’t until college he realized he could become a musician himself. He left the cows, cotton, corn and peanuts behind and headed to Auburn University (War Eagle!) to study agriculture business, and while he was there, a friend taught him to play a few guitar chords. From those three chords, Dustin studied country music to learn guitar — and then he started writing his own songs. Songwriting became a form of therapy and led to him winning the songwriter contest at the 2012 Colgate Country Showdown. Meanwhile, Dustin worked on a research farm in the Mississippi Delta, writing songs and saving up for a move to Nashville. He headed to Music City in 2014 to pursue music full-time and was performing regularly by 2016. In 2021, he played upwards of 100 dates. He’s opened for dozens of well-known performers including Jamey Johnson, Ashley McBryde, Mark Chesnutt and many more. Since releasing his first full record in 2015, Dustin has released multiple singles and EPs all while touring across the southeast. New songs, "Roll Tide" and "Roll on Mississippi", will be available on all streaming platforms in November 2022.
